Masie's Story

My name is Maisie, and my foster describes me as a dog shaped crisis.  I’m a  physically healthy, very sweet, but extremely timid girl with a lot of fear to work through.  I’ve been with my foster family a year because that's how long it took me to get healthy and recover from where I came from. You see I came from a bad breeding situation with lots of other little dogs just like me. I’m only just now slowly opening up and becoming more of a “real” dog every day.

Up until my foster family, I spent my whole life in a metal cage with 10 other dogs - so I’m learning house rules really late in life. I try my best but if something is left on the floor, I will use it as a bathroom. I have been getting better with puppy pad training but it’s slow going. My absolute dream is to be a little puppy primadonna in a house that will let me be a pampered couch dog every day, but I should be supervised because while getting on the couch is my specialty, getting off is not. I’m terrified of “the ramp” and will go to the bathroom on the couch if I’m up there too long.

Once I think you’re my person, I will be glued to your side or the side of a 4 legged friend when outside. For this reason I would probably do best with another little dog friend. Female dogs are safer for me as that's who i lived with. Actually, I prefer females all together, so the same goes for humans.

I still don’t walk on a leash but tend to do really well off leash since I’m too scared to wonder off alone anyway. My foster parents beam with pride whenever I act confidently enough to activate my “tail wag”, “pogo puppy” or “insanely fast gallop” abilities.

If you’re at home with a lot of patience, a little crisis shaped dog friend, and a ton of love to give to give… maybe, just maybe you’re my forever home. Please apply here if you think you can help a little survivor like me out.
